Elliptical Trainer Operation

It is known that exercise is one of the most important factors for human health. Classes on an elliptical, depending on the goals:

  • Increase performance (increased endurance).

  • Improves the functioning of the cardiovascular (heart and arteries / veins) and respiratory systems.

  • Reduces the risk of coronary heart disease.

  • Promotes weight loss.

  • They slow down the physiological aging process.

  • Increase physiological effects (reducing stress, increasing self-confidence, etc.).

The unique design of the  elliptical trainer provides an excellent opportunity to exercise at a high level.

Medical warnings and safety

Failure to follow safety rules can lead to injury and more serious consequences. It is worth paying special attention to the instructions below in order not to get into an unpleasant situation.

  1. Before starting training, consult a doctor. The doctor will identify possible contraindications, help determine the level of physical fitness, select an individual training program that matches your age and physical condition.

  2. So, before starting a workout, be sure to read the instructions, all the information on safety measures, and familiarize yourself with the salient features of the simulator.

  3. If during training the athlete feels unwell, weakness, chest pain, uneven heartbeat, shortness of breath and discomfort, you should immediately end the training and seek medical attention.

  4. If children are engaged in the simulator, then adults should look after and be in the immediate vicinity of them.

  5. Be gentle when exercising. Keep body parts, clothing ends and hair away from moving parts. To avoid the risk of falling, we must instal the machine on a firm and level surface.

  6. Before each workout, make sure the equipment works properly. If you find any malfunctions, under no circumstances should you use the simulator.

  7. I recommend it to use only those accessories and accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Recommendations for the care and storage of the simulator

Guided by advice on care and operation, you can protect your equipment from damage and extend its service life for a long time.

    1. Using the simulator is possible only in a dry room at a temperature of at least 10° . These are the accepted storage conditions stated by the manufacturers. Failure to do so will void the warranty.

    2. Wipe down the treadmill after each session, as dust can accumulate in the movable joints and interfere with the systematic operation of the equipment. For care, you need to use alcohol-based products. Other cleaning agents may cause minor scratches on the surface of the treadmill.

    3. Before cleaning the equipment, to reduce the risk of electric shock, you must disconnect the simulator from the power supply.

    4. Remember to regularly check the tightness of the screw connections.

    5. If you have any problems or questions about using the simulator, contact technical support or the store where you purchased the simulator.

    How an elliptical trainer works

Elliptical trainers work on the principle of cross-country skiing. Standing on the platform, the athlete pedals along an elliptical trajectory, and simultaneously pushes the levers with his hands.

Despite the simple principle of operation of the elliptical trainer, exercises on it are the most effective, since the largest number of muscles are involved in training

In addition, the elliptical trainer, thanks to its smooth, cyclical movements, gently affects the joints of the legs and the spine.

The elliptical trainer runs smoothly, quietly and provides a variety of exercises. I achieved all this through:

    • Simple load changing system.

    • Movable handrails for training all muscle groups.

    • Fixed handrails for user stability.

How to properly stand on and off an ellipsoid

Prepare for sports, put on sports equipment, make sure there is no stiffness of movement.

As you climb onto the machine, make sure the pedals are in the down position and grasp the stationary handrails of the machine with both hands.

Next, place your foot on the pedal of the simulator, then transfer the other leg while maintaining balance and start training.

At the end of your workout, repeat the above sequence in reverse order.

Load changes on the simulator

There are two ways to change the load on the simulator – mechanical (manual) and electronic. In the first case, the load is regulated by rotating the regulator.

If the simulator is with electronic load control, the change takes place by simply pressing the keys on the computer or the built-in buttons on the handrails.

I recommend the first workouts with light loads.

Position of the feet on the pedals The

position of the feet directly affects your comfort and convenience while exercising.

However, be aware that the further to the edge you place your feet, the greater the vertical movement and intensity of the workout.

Exercise Positions
In this section, there are 3 main body positions during exercise to get the best out of your lower body muscles.

Basic Position:
This position involves all major muscle groups. The body should be upright. Do not lower your head down.

Thigh and Calf Position:
To work your glutes and stretch your hamstrings, grasp a fixed handrail and lean back into a position close to a seated position.

Positions for training the gluteus muscles and stretching the hamstrings:

The greatest stress on the thigh muscles (quads) and calf muscles can be achieved by tilting the body forward and holding on to a fixed handrail.
